IVC Manages Integration of Enhanced Telecoms for Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa

Leading systems integrator IVC Media, has today announced it has been selected to manage the integration of an enhanced telecom system for the luxury Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa in the Cape Verde Islands off the coast of West Africa.  The full hotel hospitality system includes multifunction telephones, voice mail, VOIP, room service and integrated billing to the whole resort including apartments and hotel.

In 2010 IVC was also contracted to design and build a state-of-the-art centralised AV, IT, resort security and access control management infrastructure using the latest fibre technology for the resort which has now been completed.

“IVC is working with specialist hospitality consultant, Derek Wood, who has responsibility for the detailed installation, while IVC looks after the process of true systems integration and project management,” confirms John Smith, managing director of IVC Media. “We are also working closely with major telecom suppliers such as Alcatel-Lucent to source the most sophisticated and appropriate technology to match the resort’s needs.”

Owned by The Resort Group, Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa consists of a variety of bars and restaurants, pools and relaxation areas, a beach club, gymnasium, shops, 52 villas, 306 apartments, 14 hotel suites and a state-of-the-art Sol Meliá brand Yhi spa.  The entire Resort is operated by the largest resort hotel group on the planet, Sol Meliá, under its luxury 5-Star MELIÁ brand.

Installation of the enhanced telecoms and hospitality systems at the 74,843 m² Cape Verde Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa is now underway and will be completed by the official opening on 7 May 2011.
