IVC Media Wins AV/IT Integration Project of the Year at Industry Awards

Leading systems integrator IVC Media, has been announced as the winner of the ‘AV/IT integration project of the year’ category at the industry’s leading AV awards.  IVC’s work to complete the unified AV, IT and Telecoms communications system for the entire Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa complex, on the Cape Verde Island of Sal, off the coast of West Africa, was selected from a field of international project finalists from as far afield as the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

IVC’s state-of-the-art centralised AV, IT, IPTV, IP-CCTV, WiFi and access control management infrastructure uses the latest point-to-multi-point fibre technology and passive optical networks to alleviate the need for costly power sources situated across the resort complex. In addition, the high bandwidth capacity network is easy to manage and maintain and delivers a future-proofed solution that supplies multiple services to the entire resort while maintaining optimum performance, while the total system can be remotely monitored from almost anywhere in the world. Also integrated onto the network was a full hotel hospitality system including multifunction VOIP and Dect telephones, voice mail, room service and integrated billing to the whole resort.

“IVC has conceptualised, designed and delivered every element of a complete sophisticated, working unified communications system for the Tortuga Resort,” explains Ray Harding, director, IVC Media. “We are delighted that IVC’s work has been recognised through winning this prestigious award and that this project can now provide an insight into future opportunities for the AV industry.”

Owned by The Resort Group, Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa consists of a variety of bars and restaurants, pools and relaxation areas, a beach club, gymnasium, shops, villas, apartments, hotel suites and a state-of-the-art Sol Meliá brand Yhi spa.  The entire Resort is operated by the largest resort hotel group on the planet, Sol Meliá, under its luxury 5-Star MELIÁ brand.

The winners of the AV awards were announced at a special gala dinner held recently at the Hilton, Park Lane, London.  For further information about the AV Awards please see: www.avawards.com
